Imagine our flag has a personality. Here is its message, its song.

Law enforcement is one of the dangerous jobs one can enlist to do.
As a veteran I believe that law enforcement should be regarded as Marines.
They are the first to go in; whenever there is a dangerous situation; such as gunfire, acts of vandalism, destruction of property.
They are the last one's out after restoring the peace and order.
More than ever before Law enforcement relies on having proper equipment, that their lives depend on. American DefendersOnline is proud to be a source for a line of safety products that meet the job requirements. Including uniforms, jumpsuits, patches, boots, tactical gear, firearm accessories and more.
We proudly acknowledge the heroism of all firefighters who risk their lives rigorously extinguishing fires. Firefighters are brave doing acts of heroism on a daily basis; often working in extreme temperatures and in high-pressure circumstances. They risk their lives to save yours.
Firefighters are trained first responders and can handle minor medical care. Often providing fire prevention awareness to schools, to seniors citizens and local organizations. Firefighters serve as role models to our children and our communities.
Recently in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida the first all female firefighter crew was recognized. For their vision to create a unique team of highly motivated, dedicated skilled, female professionals. Strong woman serving their community.

Union of the England St George Cross and the St Andrew Cross of Scotland.
The early flag of England was the red cross of St. George only on a white field and for Scotland it was the white cross of St. Andrew on a blue field. In 1603 England and Scotland were united under King James I. In 1606 the two flags were joined together by proclamation, The new flag was called either the King’s Colors or the Union Flag and was for use at sea in civil and military ships of both Scotland and England. In 1634 its use was largely restricted to the King's ships.
1775 - Bunker Hill Battle, Massachusetts. The flag consists of green pine tree on a red / white St George Cross upper hoist canton on a blue field. The flag is commonly and commercially used to represent the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775. That the flag ever existed is debatable; many authorities believe the red New England (Continental) flag was flown, and the blue flag was created by accident when a painter misread color codes in an engraving.
John Trumbull served in the Continental Army and watched the Bunker Hill Battle from an adjacent colonial army camp. He became known later for his images of the Revolutionary War. (ref; yale.edu, Yale University Art Gallery)
The flag commonly known as the First Navy Jack, "Don't Tread on Me" striped flag may not be historically accurate.
In early 1776 Commodore Esek Hopkins, the first and only commander in chief of the Continental Navy fleet, used a personal standard designed by Christopher Gadsden of South Carolina. This flag consisted of a yellow field with a coiled snake and the motto "Don't Tread on Me" and is usually referred to as "the Gadsden flag."
The plain, striped flag used by American merchant ships.
1775-1777 - The Grand Union, also known as the Cambridge Flag or the Continental Colors, The earliest recorded use has the flag hoisted by John Paul Jones on the USS Alfred in December of 1775. It was first raised on land by General Washington at his headquarters at Cambridge, Massachusetts on January 2, 1776. It continued to be the unofficial flag of the country, as both a naval ensign and the Continental Army colors until replaced by the official Stars and Stripes (First Navy Stars and Stripes) by an Act of the Continental Congress, June 14, 1777.
The Betsy Ross flag is an early design of the of the United States flag from the American Revolution. The design is attributed to Betsy Ross of Philadelphia, and uses the alternating red-and-white stripe field from the Grand Union flag, with thirteen five-pointed stars in a blue canton on the hoist side representing the 13 original colonies. The distinctive feature of the Betsy Ross flag is the arrangement of the 13 stars in a circle. Although the Betsy Ross story is accepted by most Americans, many flag historians do not accept this design as the first American flag.
The history of the Bennington flag is widely debated — some reports claim that it was carried by Nathaniel Fillmore at the Battle of Bennington (which actually took place between Waloomsac and North Hoosick, New York). This is where the flag’s name is derived. Conversely, there are those who believe that the flag could not have been constructed until at least a quarter century after the American Revolution and think, therefore, that the Bennington Flag was crafted as a centennial or commemorative item in the last half of the 1800s.
It’s said that the Cowpens flag was flown during the Battle of Cowpens, an important Revolutionary War victory for the Continental Army. This battle was a turning point in the campaign to regain South Carolina from the British. It’s marked by superior tactics and leadership from American general Daniel Morgan, who gained a complete and decisive victory with a small force comprised almost entirely of militia. In the words of John Marshall, “Seldom has a battle, in which greater numbers were not engaged,
Captain James Lawrence never expected to be an officer in the United States Navy. In fact, he studied law before becoming a midshipman in 1798. Once he enlisted, however, he made a big splash and a friend with a big name — Commodore Perry. Together, his heroics and his friend wrought Captain Lawrence long-term historical relevance.
As captain of the frigate Chesapeake, Lawrence was mortally wounded on June 1, 1813, during a brief and fierce fire-fight with the Royal Navy frigate Shannon. As his men rushed him below the deck for treatment, Lawrence bellowed, "Don't give up the ship!" He died three days later..
Recognizing its need for repair, the Smithsonian hired Amelia Fowler, an embroidery teacher and well-known flag preserver, in 1914 to replace the canvas backing that had been added in 1873. Having worked on historic flags for the United States Naval Academy, Fowler had patented a method of supporting fragile flags with a linen backing that required a honeycomb pattern of stitches. With the help of ten needlewomen, Fowler spent eight weeks on the flag, receiving $1,243 for the materials and work.
The first official (though nonnational) Texas flag was based on the green-white-red vertical tricolor of Mexico . It was established on November 3, 1835, for use by local ships. The date 1824 on the centre stripe emphasized adherence to the federalist policies of the 1824 Mexican constitution and, hence, opposition to centralist control. That flag is believed to have flown at the Alamo when it was besieged by Mexican forces in 1836. The first official national flag of Texas, adopted on December 10, 1836, was blue with a central yellow star. The republic’s naval flag resembled the banner displayed by James Long in 1819, except that the canton was blue rather than red.
The flag as we know it was born not as a symbol, but as a very practical banner. The commanders of the Confederate army in Virginia (then known at the Army of the Potomac) sought a distinctive emblem as an alternative to the Confederacy’s first national flag—the Stars and Bars—to serve as a battle flag. The Stars and Bars, which the Confederate Congress had adopted in March 1861 because it resembled the once-beloved Stars and Stripes, proved impractical and even dangerous on the battlefield because of that resemblance.
The first President to have a Presidential Flag was Woodrow Wilson. Prior to that time the Army and the Navy had separate flags for the Commander in Chief. Franklin D. Roosevelt, Assistant Secretary to the Navy, and Commander Bryon McCandless USN, designed a presidential flag which would be suitable for use by both the Army and the Navy. The flag consisted of a presidential coat of arms on a blue field with a white star in each corner. The eagle facing left toward the arrows gripped in one talon. President Roosevelt requested a new design for the Presidential Flag.
President Roosevelt died before a new design could be approved. The eagle’s head was turned to the right as the place of honor, but more importantly facing the olive branch symbolizing America as a nation of peace.
